Hyterra Server Rules

Welcome to Hyterra! To ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all players, please follow these rules. Breaking these rules may result in warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans depending on the severity.

General Rules

1. Be Respectful

  • Treat all players, staff, and community members with respect
  • No harassment, bullying, or targeting of individuals
  • Respect players’ personal boundaries and privacy
  • No discrimination based on race, gender, religion, sexuality, or any other personal characteristic

2. Keep Chat Clean

  • No excessive profanity or vulgar language
  • No spamming or flooding chat
  • No advertising other servers or services
  • Keep discussions appropriate for all ages
  • Use English in public chat (other languages allowed in private messages)

3. No Cheating or Exploiting

  • No use of hacked clients, mods that provide unfair advantages, or exploits
  • No x-ray texture packs or similar cheating methods
  • Report bugs and exploits to staff instead of abusing them
  • No ban evasion using alternate accounts
  • Allowed mods: Optifine, minimap mods (no cave/entity radar), performance mods

4. No Griefing or Stealing

  • Respect other players’ builds and property
  • No destroying, modifying, or looting others’ structures without permission
  • No stealing from chests, farms, or other storage systems
  • Use claims/protections to secure your builds

5. PvP Rules

  • Only engage in PvP in designated PvP zones
  • No combat logging (disconnecting during combat)
  • Respect “no PvP” preferences outside of PvP zones
  • No scamming or tricking players into PvP areas

6. Building Guidelines

  • Keep builds appropriate and family-friendly
  • No offensive structures, symbols, or imagery
  • Respect spawn and community area aesthetics
  • Don’t build too close to others without permission (unless in designated areas)
  • No lag machines or intentionally laggy builds

7. Trade and Economy

  • No real-money trading (RMT) for in-game items or currency
  • Be honest in trades and auctions
  • No scamming or deceptive trading practices
  • Report suspected duplication bugs immediately

8. Staff Respect

  • Follow staff instructions and decisions
  • No arguing with staff in public chat (use tickets or DMs)
  • Staff impersonation is strictly prohibited
  • Report issues through proper channels (tickets, reports)

9. Account Security

  • Keep your account secure and don’t share credentials
  • You are responsible for all actions on your account
  • Report compromised accounts immediately
  • No account sharing or selling

10. Discord Rules

  • Follow all Discord Terms of Service
  • Keep voice channels clear of excessive noise
  • No mic spamming or soundboards
  • Use appropriate channels for different topics

Punishment Guidelines

Minor Offenses

  • First offense: Warning
  • Second offense: 1-hour mute/tempban
  • Third offense: 24-hour ban

Major Offenses

  • Hacking/Cheating: Permanent ban
  • Serious harassment: 7-day to permanent ban
  • Griefing: 3-day to 30-day ban depending on severity
  • Ban evasion: Permanent ban on all accounts

Appeal Process

Appeals can be submitted through our Discord server. Please provide:

  • Your username
  • Reason for ban
  • Why you believe the ban should be lifted
  • Any evidence supporting your case
